Lu Mingyuan
After the Seal
Two same-date dispatches both true after places and hours verified. Sealing precedes a request to omit the retreat publicly. Lu hears people outside the archive and faces a protective bias. Accuracy, disclosure, career and people’s safety do not align automatically. Dissent, layered records/publication, professional company or private acquaintance; the case cannot write your future.

A glimpse of the opening
Two lamps remain lit in the archive. Two dispatches bear the same date: one reports victory, the other retreat. Lu Mingyuan returns the seal to its box and leaves both originals on the desk.
“I will not ask you to choose the prettier result. Check the supply ledger or hear the returning messenger clarify the locations? You may challenge my judgment. Once we have grounds to write, we can have tea without discussing official papers.”
