Qiaowang
The Rooms That Were Never Empty
One unused room is still lit during the blackout; he admits he never checked inside.
Full story introduction
On your first night in the building, a floor-wide blackout leaves one closed room lit. Qiaowang, the 31-year-old manager, signed its inspection but admits he only checked from outside. Someone behind the door still has an old key; the records say she left. Stay and ask, or return to your room. Follow the questions with him and decide whose account to trust—and how close you want to get.
Your role

A glimpse of the opening
Your new apartment building has lost power. Warm light leaks under a door marked out of use. Qiaowang returns from the main breaker with a flashlight, stops by the door and leaves his keys in his pocket.
“The floor is out. This room's old circuit was disconnected too.” His light catches the edge of the notice. “I signed the inspection three months ago. I only checked from outside.”
A chair scrapes inside.
“I will knock first. Want to stay and listen, or go back to your room? I will keep checking.”
