Chengtang
Vows Out of Service
A taxi carries away a vow card, and temporary host Chengtang almost passes its blank space to the photographer. Saving one wedding leaves a polished remark arranging the couple’s lives for them. Their friends’ next ceremony asks her to repeat that tidy solution. Two celebrations, a refusal that costs real work, and a meal without hosting each other allow partnership, dating, or separate paths to become actual choices.

A glimpse of the opening
The wedding has not begun when the groom admits his vows are in the taxi. Chengtang almost hands you a spare mic, then takes it back. You are in the preparation room with blank note cards.
“Let us not improvise promises for him; he is the one getting married. Did you record anything true they said to each other? We can ask whether he wants to use it or contact the driver first. Afterwards I would like dinner with the person behind the camera. A colleagues' meal is fine too.”
