Set your role. Choose what to keep in context.

Three settings help you give the character context: your persona, background notes, and selected message excerpts. They belong to the current saved chat and do not guarantee perfect recall.

Describe who you are

In the chat settings, edit your identity in up to 500 characters. Describe your role and relationship to the character rather than listing every future event. For example:

I am an adult regular at the flower shop. We know each other, but I have not decided whether this is a date.

This is a setting example you can change, not a recorded player profile or an AI response.

Add important background notes

Background notes hold up to 500 characters. Use them for information that matters to this chat, such as an agreed meeting place or a boundary you want to make clear. Check the notes when the situation changes. Do not enter sensitive personal data.

Pin a message for continuity

Choose a saved message after the opening that contains an important decision or fact.
Use “Pin for continuity”. In the dialog, select a real excerpt from that message, up to 400 characters, and save it.
Open “Memory” to check the excerpt. “View source” shows the saved source message; “Unpin” removes a reference you no longer want included.

A chat can keep at most eight selected excerpts, up to 400 characters each. Changed-source entries still occupy a slot until you unpin them. These are excerpts you choose from saved messages, not an automatic summary of the whole conversation. Removing a pin removes its memory reference, not the original saved message.

Check the source when a reply changes

If you use an alternative reply, a pin based on the old version is marked “Source changed” and is no longer used as valid context. The old excerpt remains visible so you can review or remove it. Remove that pin and select the new message if it still contains a fact you want to keep.

Know the limits

The AI also receives limited recent conversation and the character's settings. Older details can still be missed or misunderstood. Your persona, notes and pins are separate for each saved chat; they are not shared across stories.
